Falling sick in New York is an experience that cannot be missed, literally and metaphorically. Living in a building with several hundred people makes this an eventuality. The mental process of illness far supersedes the physical symptoms. The initial reaction is disbelief, followed by an overdose of vitamins and hot water, which is soon followed by paranoia and the birth of the eternal question. Should i take anti-biotics now or wait, in the desperate hope that this will go away?..... After self prescribed drugs if the illness still persists - only then will the much resented medical insurance be utilized, and John Jay visited in the bitter cold. Melodramatic? Yes, but 100% true :D
